Chest & Shoulders … New workout 3/23/2025

I started my new split today. Let me share my thought on the plan for the next 5 weeks or so.

I am going to use a more traditional bodybuilding split.

Day 1: Chest / Shoulders + Abs
Day 2: Back (adding calfs)
Day 3: Arms + Abs
Day 4 Legs (adding calfs)

I am going to brake some of my current norms and rules and take most sets to failure or even beyond failure. Most bodyparts will include 5 to 7 sets, 3 or 4 exercises. I want to keep rest times at around 3 minutes. Other than maybe the last set of each bodypart, I will stick with stright sets .. meaning no supersets. I will add some for the last exercise of a bodypart. I do not plan on having a workout log but will do some videos. Choice of exercises will be very intuitive.

Today I did cable presses for 2 working sets. Thy were intense and to failure. Then I did 2 sets of seated true chest press to failure, followed by 2 supersets .. cable fly and stading cable fly. I really tried to feel the check contract and then stretch on most of the working sets.

For shoiulders I did 2 sets of side laterals , 2 sets of cable reverse flys, and one set of true overhead press.

I added a round of intervals on the bike, then 10 minutes of elliptical.

This workout didn't take long. About an hour total.

My food yesterday was on plan at a little higher intake. My bodyweight was 184.5 pounds today. I step count yesterday was 13,735.

Tomorrow is back day.
