Lower Body 8/13/2024
Today was a lower body day. Tuesday is legs and squats .. yes, both on the same day. Here is my workout:
Trap Bar DL:: 140x10, 230x4, 320x1, 365x3, 365 x3, 365 x3
True Leg Ext: 40 x15, 85 x6, 175 x4, 265 x4, 265 x5, 265 x5
Seated Calves:90 x20, 140x8, 200 x5, 285 x6, 285 x6, 285 x6
I do a lot of warmups when I am doing deadlifts. Also, note that the trap bar I use weights 50 lbs instead of 45.. As in other days, I do this as a giant set.
Smith Machine Squats (deep): 125 x5, 125 x5, 125 x5
Standing Single-Leg Curl: 62.5 x6, 62.5 x5, 62.5 x5
LP Calves: 242 x10, 242 x11, 242 x 11
I finished up with 3 sets of Reverse Hypers, hanging leg raises, and then eight sled sprints. I also did 10 minutes on the elliptical machine
Today I made good progress. Last evening I throught I may try 370 for the Trap Bar. I think I would have done it, but during warmups i changed my mind and decide to stick to the plan. Next week I will get 370 as I head back to 400, with a goal of around 410.
The leg extensions felt good today, and set a new PR. The increase was very small, but it is progress. Same for seated calves. Overall, it was progress on most sets.
Tomorrow is back to upper body. My diet is holding at around maintance intake. I am giving blood today and taking a hike after that. This should be interesting.
